Door attack
« on: 03 January 2011, 12:34:04 »

Hi,
Ive had an attack on drivers door with probable intention to steal the car. However it being an auto they failed .
The drivers door lock has been pushed inside the door and although I have managed to get the other 3 doors open, I cant get this to operate. Central locking functioning on all 3 doors except the drivers. Its as though the deadblot is in locked position. Inside door handle doesnt respond.
Is it hard to get the interior door panel off with door shut?
And what should I be looking for in terms of something broken or uncoupled?

regards, Andy

It is very difficult to get the door card off with the door closed without damaging it. It is most likely that because the lock is pushed inside the door it is holding the pin down and keeping the door locked. Try a screwdriver through the hole where the lock was to try and lift the lock up as you unlock with the fob, it may give enough room for the lock to operate correctly. Otherwise you can cut the door card to get at the door internals but you will need to replace it afterwards.

Just had another look and while operating the keyfob , it is trying to move. Will try the screwdriver on it. Cheers.

Also I've noticed the sunroof, windows and lecky mirrors got not supply. Could this be a fuse?

Does your key work on the boot? If it does get rid of the lock in the drivers door and fit a rear door handle with back plate :y
