Going to buy an MV6?
« on: 08 January 2011, 01:02:46 »

Had a quick look around it coolant is blue, but where you fill the oil up there was some mayo. Car was stood for a while and white smoke came out of the exhaust when first started for around 2 mins (smelt like petrol) but soon cleared. started first time though. Do you think the head gasket is on its way out? should i walk away?

Thanks Ben

Nope, Mayo around the filler is normal on these. If the oil on the dip stock looks normal don't worry about it, it's just had a few short journeys recently is all.

Welcome btw. :y

As already said, mayo is normal on the oil filler and so is the white smoke, water vapour.
The blue in the coolant is probably antifreeze, just be sure that it's not oil, that would indicate an oil cooler leak.
Unlikely that it is HG, so don't walk away, barter.  :y
