As discovered by an Australian mate of mine who bought a V12 XJS from a vicar then set off across the outback.

That said, he was working for HSV so not sure what he was doing in an XJS.

The "high" miles, plus it being an ex Taxi would put most people off, not on here. If you get get good feedback from those that serviced it, then you have nothing to lose.

Mind the taxi MOT is more extensive I know I would buy a ex taxi/private hire from the falkirk area as all cabs are MOT every 6 months to keep there hackney.
