don't know full extent of the damage yet. In laws mate is doing it so not started yet. Prescription charge should be lighter than the garage.

I have just had mine done, skim of head as well, just in case...I also had the cam belt and tensioners done, a bit early but seemed sensible to do it as only paying for parts....Bill was over £600.00 all the same... :'( :'(

Have budgeted a max of £300 tensioners belt and water pump done only about 4000 mile ago. Read on here that you can get the head skimmed for about £40. Anyway here's hoping.

I'm sorry Mike, but NO WAY was that bill for Parts Only! :o

You miss read my post, or I might have not been so clear, I meant that the cam belt and tensioners were parts only, additional costs, as the labour was included in the original Job he would have replaced the old cam belt....does that help....

Oh and about 50% of the overall bill was labour.... ::) ::)
