Omega 2.5TD (BMW Engine) Sump Removal
« on: 22 January 2011, 13:53:18 »

When starting oil light sometimes comes on and there is a knocking noise if I switch off and start again it might clear I might have to do this several times before it clears.  Someone suggested it could be oil pick up in sump.
Anyone had anything similar or any advice.

Sounds like the oil lifter is blocked.
How often has it been between oil changes/when was the last time the oil was changed.

One thing's for certain if you do indeed need to remove the sump .......

You'll need to remove the rad and sub-frame to effect this.
"Been there - done that etc!"
 :D
Oh, and if the sub-frame doesn't go back EXACTLY to it's original position afterwards, you really need to have a full WIM set-up too.
 :o
PM me if you need any advice etc!
