Driver`s door loom.
« on: 24 January 2011, 14:00:18 »

Right, trying to get Paul (P6UL K) sorted with his leccy windows. Have released the multi-plug on the driver`s door (pita). Unclipped/unplugged all the loom inside door, how do you remove the connector at the edge of the door. TIA :)

Im going to be removing the loom from a rear door soon (which used to live at your house) ;D ;), so I might be able to advise when I (hopefully) have done it. :y

Get a hand inside the door with a good grip of the loom. From the pillar edge you should be able to see 3 small tabs on the outer edge of the socket. With a small electrical screwdriver lever one tab inwards and apply a little pressure from inside the door. You should see it tip a little. Do the same to the next tab round and finally the 3rd. The whole loom then slides out through the hole next to the A post :y

That's the single worst bit of the whole job. >:(

Just when your fingers think they can take it easy you've then got to get the plugs between the door and the A post. ::)

Had to repair that connection on a Galaxy for a bloke at work. Ended up taking the door off.
Sooo much easier on a bench.
