seriously though i can understand your trepidation at spending more money on it,if mechanical work is a black art it can get people extremely worried, im in uk from  20th i think so willbe looking for a cheap estate, BUT also have a workshop at swindon where i could look at it for you if you can get it there!!

Although i was told the other day you cannot find an exhaust for a 2.2 at under 350? is that right?

Who ever it was is telling porkies, you can buy them brand spankers for £120+vat

I'd say you are mad to scrap it, what you need to consider is what are you getting to replace it? And will it start having the same problems that you have already corrected on this motor?

To give you a comparison, I have a 105k '00 MFL Elite saloon, leaking water, shocks are knackered, some prat dinged the front bumper and bonnet in Asda and even now i'm still not convinced it's a scrapper.
