Tyre shops in Wimbledon
« on: 19 February 2011, 00:33:38 »

Hi, I'm staying near Wimbledon (London of course) over the weekend and I would like to buy a couple of tyres and get them fitted.
Today (Saturday) is really the only day I can do it, so does anyone know of any good places where they are likely to have lots of good quality tyres (eg Toyo, Michelin, Continental etc) in stock?

My size is 235 40 18, so not a really common size, but still not impossibly rare. I'd go for Toyo T1-R or Falken 452 probably.

I have tried to search for tyre shops and found some but I just can't tell what stock they have.

Is it likely that the big names (eg ATS) will have big stock or am I better going elsewhere?

Any suggestions? I don't mind driving about 10 or so miles out of my way to find some. Cost is not so much of an important factor.

To do: Replace brake discs and pads; adjust already replaced shoes; check for leaks in oil cooler, cambelt area, crank seals, sump, dipstick; replace osf door; replace a tyre; clean, MOT.

Wembley Tyres in Neasden, North West 10 is probably 10-15 miles away, but in London traffic may seem a whole lot more.
Vast array of tyres at what is the busiest, reasonably priced tyre shop in the capital.
Your car will be whipped off you and before you have time to fold the receipt, your Omega will be wearing it's new boots.
Never been on a Saturday, so imagine very busy.
Ring and check stock on 0208 459 6191.

All the best,
