noise; again

i wrote a while ago about a noise coming from the in engine bay, i never got a chance to look until sunday. & the front of the engine seemed to be very rattley. i think its from the fan area. as said before the engine has plenty of oomf, no smoke, & starts ok. help pls in what to look for.  :y

If from the front of the engine take viscous fan off,see if that makes a difference,if not take the air con belt off(if its got air con) then if noise is still there aux belt off (only for a very short time as this turns the water pump)see if that makes a difference.check the egr pipe the silver one from exhaust manifold to egr valve make sure its not snap or slack at the ends.also the timing chain is at the front of the engine which is worst case.

will do as you suggest charlie. i dont think it,s the timing chain as it runs too good. & this noise has been with me for quite a while. i,m hoping it,s the viscous fan. Ta  :y :y
