« on: 07 April 2011, 21:46:56 »

Im thinking of refreshing the gearbox oil.  Its done 130k and can prob guarantee the box has never had any attention.  Just a couple of questions, How much is a new filter and where from? and also how much fluid would i need to replace??
Cheers in advance  :y.  Its a 2.0 X reg.

Filter from JPAT (see link at top of Parts For Sale section of forum) filter + 2 sump gaskets about 20 quid from memory). Some people have cleaned out and re-used their old filters, but personally I'd rather put a new one on.

The box hold 9 litres on ATF, although you won't be able to get all of it out. I used approx. 7 litres when I did mine.

Best place for ATF fluid is Opie Oils (again, link in for sale section).

Also a good guide on the whole process in the maintenance section!

Hope this helps!!  :y
