may bit of a daft question but here gos
« on: 05 May 2011, 00:35:17 »

one time when i was redoing one of the cam cover banks

I had forgot to stick one of the pipes back on the under the pendulum when i put it back

to do with the muilti ram

a couple of days before dath came to up mine to do me water pump and cam belt and he saw it when we took it off

I knew it was down on power a bit but amused it was the inlet to brige gasket that disintegrated that was leaking doing it

as i had bogged it to the one i ordered turned up

but it want that bad and drove fine

but the odd side effect  and point of thread was the while it was disconnected the petrol consumption when up to like over 30 to the gallon around town

compared with the ushall 17 or so on the 3L if you got a big foot in town

Im curious if it would do any harm running like that ?

I did seem to run odd at all for them 2 or 3 days just dident have the top end raw grunt but drove fine other than that

but dont know if it would do long term damage to car
I dont know enouth about it or how muilti rams stuff or how it  works

but im thinking if it just a case of it wont hurt anything

if say you fitted a switch operated solenoid to the pipe

you could save a fooking fortune in petrol when your not in a hurry buy switching it off

and when you want power switch back on

anyone know

I doubt it would make much difference to MPG

No i swear it did

you now the ushal 17-19 around town and about just under 30 on a run motorway etc

i had also changed the dis pac so at first of thort that was helping MPG

but was getting about 29 around town and that quite a difference

soon as i had it off and it was reconnected was back to normal mpg wise

i was quite surprised that it seem to make such a difference

I think there must be a mistake in the calculation, or if using the MID, that hiccupped.

If that was a solution, don't you think Vauxhall would have implemented it? And every other manufacturer ;)
