hey omega bofs. i have a very perplexing problem that even has a garage stumped and the cost of chasing it is starting to bite

have any of you come accross a fault like this

when i park my car and try to lock it it takes 6 attempts. everytime come wind, rain or shine i lock it with the fob and it unlocks all the way untill the 6th atempt finally locks it. i cant put that across anymore normal. everytime, 6, never 5 or 7 just 6.

but here is the thing. once i get it to lock, i can use the fob to unlock the car and then lock it again fine 1st time everytime. UNTIL....... if i put the keys in the ignition and turn it on (dont have to fire the engine, just turn the key and then remove it, it now takes 6 attempts to lock it again.

if i lock it with the key or from inside, only the door i am locking will lock. none of the others move.

the garage has tacken both fronts and the tailgate locks apart and stripped them. still has the problem. could this be a wierd ecu fault?

I need OOF's best brains on this as mine are close to exploding

I posted about this ages ago. I have identical problem....sixth time, every time Once locked you can unlock it with the fob EXCEPT the drivers door. Providing you don't unlock the drivers door with the key, you can open any other door or the tailgate and the car will lock on the fob first time.
 Not sure, but last time TB tech 2'd me I am sure he said its the front door motor/solenoid. Totally logical
Thats what I think it is anyway...so will be doing it when I get chance.

Had similar trouble with mine, but unlocking as well as locking. Fitted a replacement motor in the drivers door (got it off Elite Pete) and all sorted now

evening guys(and any ladies)my drivers door lock is now u/s,if i open the o/s passenger door and push the drivers lock it activated the central locking,do you think yhis is the motor?? if so is it easy to replace i also need a second key have seen fobs on ebay can i but one of these and get it programmed at a vx dealer or do i need to buy a complete key,any idea of cost ? thanks phil..
