Faults found on pedal trick.
« on: 25 May 2011, 22:21:00 »

As previously stated had a few problems starting recently. Did the pedal trick today and got :

0300 > Random misfire.
0305 > Cylinder 5 misfire detected.
0335 > Crankshaft position sensor "A" circuit malfunction.
0420 > Catalyst system efficiency below threshold. Bank 1.
0430 > Catalyst system efficiency below threshold. Bank 2.

Car seems to run normally, and only had problem starting about 3 or 4 times, although yesterday it took about 15 mins of trying to get her started. I guess this is simply going to get worse. So what to do now, and in which order ? And is anything affecting the performance of the other faults..? Help greatly appreciated...  ;)

Under-steer is when the front of the car hits the wall, and over-steer is when the rear of the car hits the wall.
Power is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how much of the wall you take with you.

Thanks for advice. Is there only one type of crankshaft sensor for this engine ? It got me scared today as the engine management light was on solid all the way home....

There are 3 and Vx cannot tell you which one you have.  You need to get under the car and look at the part number on it (located by the oil filter)
