CHECK?
« on: 11 June 2011, 19:46:40 »

Ok spent most of the flaming day finally fixing the boost leak on the new estate,(someone had replaced glowplugs but not renewed inlet gaskets!! 5 out of the six were leaking!!) also found a broken vac pipe to the vac controller while the inlet manifold was off, found a blown 20amp fuse in the triangle which i think is for the intercooler fan as it was stuck!! so put it all back together, got in car to test and the damn radio had gone into safe mode? wtf? how>

not only that but in the mfdisplay is now the word CHECK?
got no idea what that is or how to get rid of it!!!
now im not used to the facelifts as had me prefacelift for so long so how do i get the radio out of safe mode? just wait?
and what does the CHECK mean is it a fault code?

engine light goes off immediately so i aint sure!!!
 ;D

Omegatoy - is it CHECK on top line?  It should say something else on next line.

Does it go away when to press the brake pedal ;)

OK - you said it a couple of posts above - your knackered coolant level sensor!

As the car sees that you have no coolant, you have the CHECK warning lit.

SAFE is because you need to put the code back in the stereo :y

Ign On
Turn Radio Off
Press and hold AS, turn radio on, release AS when you get a beep
Repeatedly press 1 to get correct first digit
Repeatedly press 2 to get second
3 for thrid
4 for fourth
Double check display shows correct code
Press and hold AS to submit code.

If it doesn't work after first attempt, assume you have wrong code!

Your grey one won't have one.

Until you get a new coolant bottle (about £25 + VAT for V6, dunno about tractor), unplug it, and shove a paperclip in the lead, shorting out the pins ;)
