Good independent garage.
« on: 31 January 2008, 11:08:35 »

If, like me, you're inept with a spanner and the mechanics of a car are about as familiar as quantum physics, it's essential to find yourself a good independent garage.

I've been using mine for several years now and I'm always impressed with the service, quality of work and prices. I called in there Tuesday as I needed a few minor jobs doing which consisted of sorting out my jammed rear seat (seatbelt trapped in the catch), nearside sidelight bulb replacement and refix the plastic trim under the font wheelarch that had come loose. All sorted in about 20 minutes or so, and the cost..........£0.00!!! They just said "that's ok Bob, we like to look after our loyal customers" They also rarely charge me for tyre fitting when I buy them from the Internet.

Now thats what I call service!!  [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif]

So how about a 'good garage list', as recommended by members? This can be accompanied by a 'good TC dealer parts department' list which, while admittedly not a very long list, will be helpful as well....

...and can you post the details of said garage? Herts is not a million miles away from me, and I don't mind travelling a bit to make sure that the job is properly done (though I have a Vx dealer around 200 yards from my home...)

This was suggested in the Suggestions Box section some time ago here....http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1165314036
I think Jaime was undecided about the idea at the time.

The garage name and address is:-
Autocare
Unit 22, Impressa Park
Pindar Road
Hoddesdon
Herts EN11 0FF
Tel: 01992 446000
Contact: Andy or Phil

If you decide to use them, drop me a PM and I'll direct you or even meet and take you there. :y
They're also aircon specialists too if you have any aircon issues.

Thanks, I 'll let you know.... there are some jobs that I would like to do (wishbones, rear brakes...), but with the kind of weather we have these days this is not going to happen. So I might ask your guys to to this for me...
