Hi guys a little more help please.

I've decided after a year to put the Omega back on the road. Plan of action is:

New Battery
Oil change
Good Clean

Is there anything else mechanically/electrically I should do before taking it for a spin to the MOT station.

TIA
:D

Brakes will probably be poor until the discs clean up under use, so a few decent applications when it is safe to do so.

Handbrake may well be very sticky, exercise it a good few dozen times to ensure the mechanism works properly, then apply a few times when moving at a slow walking pace to "clean" the surfaces.

Tyre pressures and condition - if its stood there may be sidewall cracks

Wipers may be stuck or split, washers may be gunged up .. make sure clean and working well.

Might think of more later !!!

If the battery charges to keep the car starting ok I wouldn't bother replacing it until after the MOT...same with the oil really until you know what you are dealing with as far as getting the car roadworthy...check all the bulbs etc and there is a good chance the handbrake will be locked on if its been left on for a year...

Ok MOT booked for next Saturday!

Now I have a new issue? Started the  car this morning and was letting it get up to running temperature while I was doing other things in the garden then after about 10 minuted she cut out no coughing or spluttering simply switched of. Is this serious or simply a safety thing??

TIA

Run out of fuel? Is the light on, perhaps crank failure when its warmed up?
