2003 elite rear s/l shocks
« on: 11 July 2011, 16:41:08 »

Hi guys! Where would be the best place in north London to get the rear self level shocks? Stealers? She is sat down on drivers rear and when the car is switched off she sits after a whosh... Been looking but they don't seem to say there the different ones..(self level). The shocks are the last thing and she should do a long time. Oh I read something about the rubber on toP of the shock needs doing?!?

The self levelling shocks are dealer only. They are cheaper if bought with a Trade Club card. Must be replaced in pairs.

There are some tests you can do first. Check height to wheel arch both sides with engine off. Start it up and after a couple of minutes re measure. If both sides change then you may have a broken spring.

Broken spring sounds about right with the funny creaks outta her. Glad you said it I'll get that check cos mot in sept. Rang around today very limited knowledge when it come to elite even the dealers had to be told they were s/l for elite, even after I told him it was an elite and gave him reg... Told me 115 each plus vat. Can see no leaks from shocks! Cheers guys!

Check the small black pipes that go to the shock you may find one ahs a hole in it and letting out the air i had this a long time ago and just replaced the pipe as for the shock you can get monroe ones but you will have to do a bit of moding to the pipe fittings i did this as well but wish i had got a trade card and bought vauxhall ones as i dont think there is much difference in price.
Hope this helps mate. :y

If your after springs there is also KYB which you could consider, that suits the s/l suspension. dont know the exact model number though.  :(
