What needs removing ?
« on: 02 August 2011, 20:19:30 »

I am geared up to have a go at replacing my blowing o/s exhaust menifold gasket this weekend and think I have all the bits and hopefully tools required to undertake the job.

Couple of questions could do with an anwer.

1) How much from the top of the engine do I realisticly need to remove to allow me access to the fixings for the coolant transfer pipe to block.

2).It seems adviseable to remove the entire HBV and associated plumbing. What is the best tool to get at all those difficult to reach hose clips and more importantly get them back on afterwards.

Much appreciated.

Plenum, inlet manifold + fuel rail, "spacer" plate below inlet manifold.

I always use small mole grips - works well for me  :y
