LPG Problem
« on: 02 August 2011, 23:06:06 »

My LPG setup has started to please itself when and if it works ?
The switch on the dashboard with the pretty little green lights, and the important one that flashes until running on gas, has decided to continue flashing for as long as it likes ??  :-/ Have made a couple of 70 mile round trips this week, on one of them the light flashed for the whole one way trip of 35 miles ? Having been warned that these things are notoriously innacurate I didn't take much notice until, I noticed my petrol tank was down from 3/4 to a 1/4..  :'( Just popped to Sainsburys 4 miles away, light flashed all the way there, but was on solid all the way home ? Is this a case of a new switch, or is there something more sinister going on ??

Under-steer is when the front of the car hits the wall, and over-steer is when the rear of the car hits the wall.
Power is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how much of the wall you take with you.

Sounds like it's probably a dodgy coolant (vaporiser) temp sensor. Plug the Lappy in to check :y

The flashing green light means it's awaiting the correct parameters for switchover ;) The inaccuracy is in the level lights, not the function light

I thank you gentlemen for your quick response, but haven't a clue where to start?  :-[ :-/ Have to get someone to do just about everything for me..  :-[ Any further suggestions, apart from 'what I can do with myself', would be greatly appreciated...  ;)

Iirc on that model it's a black unit (with a 2 pin plug) screwed to the side of the vaporiser... Might be worth just changing it if you can't do much :-/ I had one fail with the same symptoms  ;)

Failing that, try to arrange a visit to an installer who can do stag stuff... There's one not far from you, well North London, called London LPG Conversions... Speak to Nori

Many thanks for the info, I'm not lazy or inept, but since my strokes find home mechanics quite hard to do, plus, never ever been any good with electrics or computer thingys..  :-/ I'll take up your suggestion Docker, have an installer nearby, I'll see if he can help.. Thanks again.  ;)
