hi all...me again... help needed...had battery just die on me yesterday,, bastard , fitted new one from local halfords as rac got me started and halfords was the closes place to get one. now getting error code 49 on paper clip test. battery high voltage... any ideas why and is this right...

Check the alternator output at idle and at 2500rpm.  If its above 14.6v, its a knackered alternator, which will kill the battery.

RAC guy checked charging etc and he said it was ok.. not that ,that means anything..
