Fault Checks
« on: 16 August 2011, 14:55:41 »

Hi All,

My Omega is showing 'Brake light Check' after engine switch on. Brake lights are fine and the fault goes away once the brake pedal is pressed. I also get 'Coolant Level Check' and have topped up the coolant. Do I need to do anything else to clear these check codes?

Thanks!

Brake light check as described is normal. If coolant level is correct then level sensor has failed

That's what it's supposed to do, it's telling you that both brake lights are working. If the message stays or comes on when driving, then a brake lamp has blown.

Dodgy float in the header tank. can sometimes be cured by cleaning the header tank out. Or a new tank is around £35 & takes minutes to fit.  :y
