What do you mean Rob?
....

F/L = facelift ie later cars. Their headlights are a different shape from yours

HID headlamps have a lever inside which cut off the up sweep of a dipped headlight ie for RHD they appear something like \_____   \_____ when shone against a garage door. Your LHD lights will appear _____/   _____/  :y

When the lever is moved across the beam you'll get   ____  ____  whether RHD or LHD. The lever won't make a RHD headlight into a LHD light or vice versa  :y
[/highlight]

True but is sufficient for the Spanish version of an MOT. The already poor lights become poorer!  ;D

wet sand them with 2000 grid ..

then use G3 (a kind of paste) and polisher or hand buffing..

and add xenon..  [smiley=evil.gif] (admins will jump now ;D)

lenses are not like the other with xenon ;D

Hi guys

Anyone know I can get those headlamp covers to get clear. They are cloudy plastic. I heard from someone that you can buff them up with a special solution and some elbow grease. Is this true? Your help would be appreciated.

Best regards
Anthony  :y

Ingredients required:- Orbital sander. Eight sheets of Wet & Dry (two each 400, 600, 1200, 2000). Bucket of water with a dash of fairy liquid. T-Cut. Turtlewax. Halfords cost about a tenner.

Work down through the grades of wet n dry  keeping it wet to avoid clogging and overheating. Finish off with T-Cut and a wax. Takes about half an hour a side.

I did mine last weekend - what a difference! I've got a 'before & after' photo on my phone and would post it here if I knew how!!

Great tip thanks :y
Now what is the Spanish version of T Cut ? lol

Until you replace them...you can clear the ones you have with normal T-Cut and a fair bit of elbow grease...may need 2 or 3 coats if they are really bad but should come up like new :y

Any metal polish (eg Brasso?) will probably work as well.

It does at first, yes. But as you work down through the grades - getting finer and finer - the surface gets flatter and flatter. The final T-Cutting brings it back to it's sparkling old self!
If you just polish them all you'll get is polished (but still pitted) plastic. I believe there's a "How To" on here somewhere.
Let me see if I can somehow get the photo off my phone !

Sorry, I was wrong. It's not a "How To" here, it was another  site I found when looking to fix the same problem as yours.
