Intermitent Misfire - Help with Diagnosis
« on: 23 August 2011, 10:59:27 »

Ive got an intermittent misfire on my mig at the minute despite fitting new plugs, leads and coil pack in the last 6 weeks.
Its not confined to one cylinder

Just trying to establish what else it could be.

Got no fault codes, no EML and no increase in emissions. Got me stumped.
Someone i spoke to today mentioned the possibility of it being the wiring on the speed sensor.

Cam covers were done 2 weeks ago and a couple of the old plugs were soaked in oil.

Is there a possibility that the new coil pack has failed as a result of it having to work extra hard?
Can anyone shed any light on it?

Regards
Ash

shortest path to test your car is find another oofer close to you and test a known working good one..

if problem is not there , there may be various reasons..
