No horn if alarm trips?
« on: 22 August 2011, 15:12:24 »

Any ideas?

The alarm has only tripped twice since ive had the car but when it does there is no audio (horn), just the indicators flashing.

The only time I have had any horn out of it was when the power sounder started playing (subsequently removed).  Even with the power sounder in place still had no horn on the alarm.

Thanks,

I thought that is what it might be but I am no mechanic so like to ask first.  I believe it was connected OK (will double check) but I also noticed at the time that there was a stray connector where the horn / power sounder was.

I took this picture when I was taking the powersounder out (sounder and alarm horn still connected), but shows the 'stray' connector that was just sitting in the area.

For what its worth, mine is also fubared (an ordinary horn will fit as its the same connectio), and would be suppliers of ones of breakers on here, have found all three also u/s! Seems very strange that so many fail. I wonder how many of them on cars are inop but unidentified. So, go forth and check your alarms. Myself, Albs and Twiglet will be very interested in the result. :-? :-? :-?
