Crank Sensor failed within 15 months :-(
« on: 24 August 2011, 20:44:30 »

I have been getting the intermittent starting problem, I thought it was the fuel pressure regulator, but just read the codes on a friends cheapo "My Naff Code Reader" and it came up with

Total number of fault codes: 1

00019 - Incorrect RPM Signal
Not present

Only had it replaced last year too. :( anybody know the cost of these? very bad timing financially atm.

Are they readily available? or do I need to order?

They have been known to fail when newish. Ring round VX dealers to find one which has one in stock. There are different types so make sure you get the correct one. ;)

Cheers Albs, I'll give the local dealer a ring tomorrow, even though they're not known for their service with a smile.  >:(

Cheers, is that trade or retail? Daz helped me get the last one. I think that cost about 56 squid inc VAT. iirc it was over the 100 retail  :o

While I'm here what bolt holds it in, I don't wanna get under there and find I don't have the right socket, Lee (Welung666) fitted it for me back in May last year because due to health issues on my part, I couldn't get under there, still gonna struggle now but with the slightly warmer weather it'll be easier  :y

Glad you got it, I think the socket needed is an e8 or e10 but you might get it off with an 8 mm or 10 mm socket
