Errors P0130 and P0150 on Motronic 2.8.3
« on: 02 July 2010, 19:01:15 »

Hi

These are the errors I get.
P0550 - Power Steering Voltage High   - Not Connected on my car-
 (01) - Present

P0130 - O2 Sensor 1 Open Circuit
 (04) - Not present
P0150 - O2 Sensor 2 Open Circuit
 (04) - Not present

Now the whole story :)
Ok I switched to a Motronic M2.8.3 from a Vectra( Had a 2.8.1 from a Omega). When Cruising at higway speeds the EML comes on when you lift of the throttle ever so slightly,if you put your foot down the light goes out. I have some live data from the ECU and I can see that both O2 Sensors go from Closed loop to Open  and the mv readings drop to 0. I know these errors can be caused by faulty sensors, but I never had a EML light on the 2.8.1 ECU . Does the Omega use different O2 sensors than the Vectra ?

I also had a problem with the elbow that runs form the intake to the brake booster, it broke when the pipe was removed so all I could do was to use some Q Bond with the filling powder. Now im thinking maybe I have a vacuum leak on that elbow thats causing the errors to show up, or a leak on the exhaust system. We checked the wiring but could not find any problems.

I unplugged both sensors and the EML stays off , will do a road test tomorrow but this is realy strange since I would have tought the EML would come on if the sensors are not connected

All I can think to try now is to replace the sensors and hope for the best  :-/
