Steering issues
« on: 31 August 2011, 00:38:51 »

Hello. I am experiencing that it is sometimes hard to steer my Omega (X30XE) specially when not in motion or when I am just about to turn from a astand still position. But while driving it becomes soft but so much. Is my steering pump the culprit or are there other factors which might cause this. Please help. Thanks.

Double check the tyre pressures and also the power steering fluid level. Pump might also be getting tired. :-/

Yes, pump is driven by belt, but level of assistance is controlled electronically via a fuse.

Elite now gone.  Bought an X-Type 4x4.  If there had been an Omega 4x4 I would have bought that instead.  We really liked the Omega, but I wanted 4x4.
