Iffy rear shocks

Another 13 month ticket on the old girl today – thank goodness.   :y

Got an advisory “light misting of oil” on the rear shocks.  I’ve taken a butcher’s and it is indeed a very light misting, and I can’t detect any problem in the handling or on a bounce test.  What do you reckon – keep an eye on them until there is a noticeable degradation or replace them to be on the safe side?

Also, mine are self levellers, which TC doesn’t list for the saloon.  Are they 72119085 the same as the estate?

I changed mine on the Elite a year or so back... got them from vx and was £75 per side for self levellers

Saloons and Estates are different as part # provided by RobG.

Replacement now is your choice although if they have been noted they will require replacing before next year.Lot can happen in a year and if you have a spare £150 and fancy nice shiney new parts then go for it as sure the ride will be better.

On the flip side money might feel better in your wallet.

Thanks for the advice.  I'll probably get around to it if we have a sunny day in the next few weeks.  At least I'll get the right part now!

From recent experience its worth shelling out for right tools, get a 16mm ratchet spanner for the top of shock along with a 6mm spanner, an adjustable will just slip off!

Watch out when you disconnect the air feed for the shock  :y
