Interior lights oddity
« on: 19 May 2008, 21:42:19 »

Discovered this one last night :

Open passenger door and the central interior roof light works great, but the door light does not  - so I check the bulb - its OK so I think must be wiring but I don't have time to dismantle the door .. put it on the list of jobs.

Open drivers door, and door lights in BOTH front doors work fine !!!

So, the bulb is good, the power is good, the passenger door switch must be good to power the roof light ... so why doesn't the door light come on when the passenger door is opened ???

Got me puzzled now .. :(

So one circuit for the roof light, another for the doors then ... perhaps a wire is off then .. looks like I need to pull the switch out .. :(

Thanks for the info  :)

Taken the switch out .. damned socket got left behind .. !! so had to take the kick panel out to retrieve it ....  :(

Switch shows continuity to 0v on both contacts.

SWTSMBO then decided I had things to do so didn't get a chance to check for volts on both lines, reassembled .. no change ... :(

Plan is ... next week sometime ... check for +12v on both lines ?? swap drivers side/passenger side see what happens ?? compare voltage drivers side /passenger side ??

Any other suggestions rom "those who know"  ??   :)
