you dont need to have the amp wired up to use the cd changer, I cant tell any difference in the sound quality between the 95elite I have (without amp and rear shelf speakers) to the CDX's i have that do have the philips amp and rear shelf speakers. at least not up front when in the drivers seat.

Im still baffled as to why they put subs in the rear shelf but covered them over instead of having grilles like the bose setup.

I just changed the whole shelf on my cdx's so that they now have the bose covers and the sound comes thru clearer now.

I will be wiring it up without the amp initially but I guess it's annoyed me so much now I'm not gonna be happy until I get the amp going too later on lol
