Instruments or Light Switch
« on: 21 September 2009, 21:43:00 »

Hi Guys

Just a quick one. Switch the headlamps on the other night and all the dash lit up as normal then all when off.

Headlamps still work but just like the dimmer has been turned right down.

Think its the switch myself but has anyone else had the same problem

Cheers

TB:

All the cabin dash lights go off and you just make out the display panel. Turn the headlamps off and the dispaly comes back ok.

Leave it for a bit and turn the headlamps back on and the dash lights will come on then go out after a couple of seconds.

Done the normal cure with this sort of think and slapped the top of the dash etc but no luck ;)

Yes just finished reading it. I'll try the same but all i had done was change the oil and filter and it happened on the way home.

I've got an Elite Leather to put in before the end of the year so it might have to wait until then.

Got engine swap and body work on a Senator A to do, Roof Skin on a Manta Coupe, 2.4 Engine swap on a Manta Hatch, Bits and bobs on two other Mantas and i need to get my GT up on stands to start the strip down, oh and finish painting the workshop.

But i'll get the meter out at the weekend and have  quick play

Cheers

I lost my dash lights last night when traffic master loom decided to short itself out so may be a sign of a short elsewhere.

My issue turned out to be a short on the terminals of the rear cigar lighter illumination, I had disturbed it when fixing a problem with the vent wheel, but as i'd changed the headlight switch the same day i'd assumed it was that that was at fault. the help I had on here was fantastic and found the fault eventually.

good luck in finding your culprit Andy :y
