Alarm Probs MV6 3.0 FL 2000 Auto
« on: 27 September 2009, 13:56:07 »

Well trying to sort out a few problems with the 2nd MV6 bit by bit, one one them thats driving me mad is the Alarm falsing directly after a drive and being locked up.

This is where Im up to so far, dissed the horn so as not to draw attention to itself, dissed the Bonnet switch, checked the door swicthes seem ok (Estate), closing all the Air Vents (Hot / Cold air inside), pressing the interior alarm button prior to lock up, and the last thing was to tape up the US sensors by the rear view mirror.

Thing still goes off, seem to do it when the Car is warm, or it might be the alarm gives up the ghost after a while.

Have I missed anything?, what other sensors are there (vibration / current being drawn?), anyway of getting faults codes of the Alarm?

Any other ideas or help please.

Read the alarm fault log from the ECU, Tech2 or "My Naff Code Reader" can do it for you.

I`m pretty sure that the rear fixed windowglass N/S and O/S have alarm sensors. Have they been checked for any faults

Thanks, thought a Tech 2 was going to pop up as the one of the options, unfortunately don’t have access to neither.  :(

Thanks Rob, thinking if you mean the 2 wire things either side of the Estate glass?, I thought they were the Aerial for the Remote?

I suppose TB or Kevin Wood are your nearest for Tech2.
