Headlight switch woes .....
« on: 03 October 2009, 16:28:50 »

I dont know if the following are interconnected - so here goes:

I removed my headlight switch and since putting it back the twist action isn't very positive any more. Also, the interior light is now too easy to leave on - so I removed the bulb so that I wouldn't get a flat battery. Since remocing the bulb my alarm seems to be going off rather a lot - good job the powersounder isn't working.

Are these related, I suspect so.

Thanks

What have you done? ;D ;D ;D

Did you use the knob to pull the switch out? If you did the small plastic clips that give the 'click' for the interior light could have snapped. I've got a headlight switch here if you're stuck, it's a non-HID switch with the leveller control.

did you take it to bits, cos if you did you may not of set it back propely, i did mine and changed the led's in side and you have to put it back together right or it well not work properly, there is a pin for the intera light switch if not in, its not locked in place and can turn on the light on and off, it falls out when you open the unit. i put blue leds in side works well can see it all now. :y

No, I didn't "pull the knob" to remove the switch, and TBH i'm more worried about the blooming alarm going off as a consequence of what I've done, I've just realised that I have spare headlight switch so might give that a try .....

Thanks anyway.

Not that it probably makes any difference to what you're doing, but be aware that not all mainlight switches have the lights-on-buzzer built into it. Mine's a seperate buzzer down inn the passenger footwell/behind the glove box.  :y
(Jamie can tell you which cars have this arrangement  ::))
