Lamps - I'm curious

Was browsing the Bay of E this evening ( as you do....) and found this reagrding replacement foglamps.

Chavvy/usefull/expensive/worthwhile/waste of dosh....

OK, ignoring cost and postage.....

Its the technology I was interested in....

Yup, its a shed load of seies parralel connected SMT LED's by the looks of it.

The interesting thing will be if it has a proper driver device as LED's dont like spikes and reverse voltages (both of which sadly appear on car electrics)

Not convinced about any of these multiple LED bulbs - not because of the technolgy though, but its the light output I have a problem with.

Most of the front lens`s on cars have some for of refraction / magnification to increase the light output and concentrate it in a given direction. But this will only work if the actual light filament is in a correct position and of the right focal length. If not, the lens will be magnifying the light from only one or two led`s that are in the correct position meaning that the light will glow a nice white colour internally, but nothing will be coming forward.

And although not EU approved, I have a suspicion that they will undoubtedly be frowned on by the MOT centre and the Feds ?
