Not sure if this is possible or even thought about lol
But do you think it would be possible to change to logo on a CID i know its either vuaxhall or opel just a random thought thats buzzing in my head  :D

Either Opel or Vauxhall is your options.  Beyond that, you'll be in the realms of reverse engineering the firmware...

Guessing its a jpg image stored in there some where, Ive manage to change the start up image on some Becker Sat Nav in the past, but have no idea about the CID's.

Not as far as I know.  Can't even play, as I've knackered my 2 spare CIDs  :'(

Could be a propreitry format, giving that its a simple image.  Its possible its stored in a controller somewhere, rather than a seperate flash chip.  From memory, not an obvious flash chip for it...

I suspect it will be a raw bitmap.....if it was jpeg they would need a decoder which would cost money and add complexity

Possibly RLE encoded bitmap - fairly easy to decode, and would massively reduce storage, which may be useful if stored on a cheap controller somewhere...

That would make sense, the Becker units I played with have a Picture Viewer and Wav Player built in so jpg decoder already in.

I can understand the mp3 bit but why you would want to watch a Picture Slideshow whilst your driving along beats me.
