Why do people disconnet the heater

On a 2.2dti why do people disconnect them.the one on cheers charlie the o/s/f

NO i dont know the answer,I was wondering if there was a reason for one to be disconnected(a commen fault etc)JUst like why people disconnect the sai :y :y

Never heard of anyone disconnecting the diesel pre-heater.

well thanks for the info,i might try putting the plug back in,then see what happens(if any thing happens at all)
When would this heater be used,on start up until warm every day or just very cold days. :y :y

are you on about the pre-heater, as in name pre heats fuel for quicker start, they are ty'd in with the screen display temp, when temp flashes on cold days starts pre-heat.

They preheat the coolant, not the fuel. If diesal heaters are fitted, they're fitted in the filter bowl.
