Hi my new ratio is all put in but I can fond a radio signal anywhere out of a town,usually can!as soon as leave town it goes and just scans all the time.aireal is all connected ag back of stereo so any clues guys?

Connections to amplifier/heated rear screen OK?

Screen works fine? You mean as a demister? It's also your radio aerial  , the amp is under the parcel shelf cover.

Also check angled connector at back of radio, centre core fractures very easily

I had a closer inspection today and it looks like at some point the rear screen has been replaced.would this make a difference?

check on the plug in the left side light cover should be a plug upto the right pull off it clip, there you should find a 6 pin plug check the wires on that as gose to arial amp, black and purple should be live with engine light on (engine key number 2)( off no volts) if not then the radio is not sending volts to the amp. when radio is pluged in even switched off sends volts but when removed there is no volts.
