could anyone tell me what the temp guage should read when driving (urban) my goes up to 100 then comes down to mid way then up again to 100 and so on and so on    03 plate 2.2 auto

That is considered normal when urban driving especially.  As long as the fans are kicking in, and the temp always drops below the 100 mark you are ok in a 2.2. :y :y

With my 2.5's and 3.0's V6's the temp range is roughly 80 - 90, but may go up to nearer 95 when in urban traffic, especially when the weather is hot. ;) ;)


If you remain concerned then I recommend a new thermostate, or at least a complete flush out of the system and refil with the standard 50/50 mix. :)
