Driver's door lock
« on: 05 March 2011, 09:54:44 »

About a week ago the driver's door lock stopped working via the remote. All of the other doors would open but the driver's door stayed locked, but I could open it easily with the key. If I locked the car with the remote all of the locks would operate, except the driver's, but would then immediately pop open again. Locking with the key would work fine, as would using the driver's lock button, and unlocking with the key opened all of the doors.

After a couple of days it started working normally again, but now, a week later, the same symptoms have returned. Is it likely to be the lock motor or maybe just a loose wire?

Cheers. I've just watched the video and that's exactly what mine is doing.

Just got to hunt out a solenoid now then!

Thanks guys. I've had a squint through the parts section but couldn't see anything so I've posted a "wanted" in the test area and I'm hoping that a kind Mod will move it for me.  ;)

However, no need to remove the outside handle. You van simply disconnect all the rods connecting to the door lock unit  :y

The Astra G has the locking motor & door catch assembly as a complete unit and is nothing like an Omega's.  ;) ;) ;)

Cheers guys.  Looks like I might have one sorted from Elite Pete.

Of course, Sod's Law has kicked in and the lock has started working again but I guess it's warning me that it's going to need replacing soon.

Jim.
