Bose 2013 and GID depairing.
« on: 12 April 2011, 23:30:15 »

Just want to check the procedure for this. I want to keep the headunit and GID together as a unit.
It has to be depaired from the car while its still in the car - yes ?
Then if moved to another car - needs a chat with tech2 to pair it with that car ? :-/

Only needs de pairing if separating the units to work with another unit, upgrade to CID for example.

So if selling both, just remove and re fit in another car. They are paired to each other, not the car.

Otherwise yes, if separating, must be de paired in the car first, then removed, re fitted in another car that must also be de paired first, the re paired once fitted, all via tech2.  The security is in the pairing to screen.

Indeed, if selling together, no need to depair

If you can, provide new owner with pairing code though

No worries ;) The CID is a 'nice to have' rather than a 'must have' .. and that's assuming I can sort out the antenna issue (unless it really is the 2013 that's the problem in my case, which, obviously, replacing it would eliminate :))

If you come to the essex meet you can try mine out - which would help you eliminate and also help me find out if it all works ok. :y :)
