Horn problem
« on: 27 April 2011, 20:51:23 »

suddenly today, the horn triggered , and continued for no apparent reason.

It is not like the alarm mode , but constant, and cannot be shut off, except by disconnecting the battery.

Any ideas, on cause/ or temp disablement?

in desperation....

Which one? The normal road horns live behind the nearside of the front bumper, but there is also another horn next to the power sounder under the scuttle.

Unplug the wiring connector from the back of the horn.

Is it electronic or normal horn sound - there are 2 alarm horns mounted side by side under scuttle.  If its electronic sound, unplug it and bin it.

OP said it was in engine bay and not under scuttle - which sounds more like an aftermarket fitment of something at the dealership prior to delivery - need a photo of it to confirm really.

there's one horn in the bay under the brake master, the cable runs back to the power sounder unit-

unplugged, both terminals blanked off with insulating tape- sorted ;)

gracias amigos!
