CCR 2006 CD tray won't eject
« on: 15 June 2011, 12:42:47 »

Having read other posts and examining the tray, I can see that it is expanded out, suggesting the laser arm motor has failed and is amongst the cd's, and not allowing the cartridge to compress and eject.

Before I buy a new one,  - has anyone seen a case like this where the culprit is NOT the laser arm? ie it may be worth trying the 'power off for an hour' trick or power and eject at the same time?

HU out, carefully remove fascia, separate CDC unit from main unit, remove top cover plate of CDC, should then be able to extract cartridge. Possible problems.........small screws loose on cartridge causing "expansion" or eject mech twisted or broke.
Have a read of Andy`s guide, explains the process of separation.

Had exactly the same problem with my cartridge. Once removed & CD`s out & screws tightened, all OK

So could be the case that all I need are the DIN removal keys - seen plenty on ebay, some perhaps better than others?

Double DIN are a PITA to get out, as they stick in the cages. Cheap removal tools, such as the Autoleads shite that Hellfrauds sell, will need a bit of modification.
