Safe mode
« on: 23 June 2011, 16:36:49 »

Omega needed a jump start the other day.

Wife thought she knew the code, but didn't. The display shows " 7 SAFE" but I have followed the manual and can't get the " AS " button to give me a tone so as to enter the correct code.

3 incorrect attempts have been made and I thought allowing 24hrs to elapse would be sufficient.

Have I left it long enough, or am I missing something ?

Thanks for reading and advising.

Thanks Rob,

How long for please ? After that period has elapsed, should I shut radio and ignition off and start afresh ?

Thanks for your anticipated advice.

Christ !

Poor old girl will need another jump start after 2hrs !

Seriously, I haven't a clue..... can the car be idling, driving etc or do I have to babysit her on the drive with radio and ignition on for 2hrs ?

Thanks for the advice.

Just in case anybody looks at this for advice in future.

As OOF was about to be temporarily taken down, I rang Dave and he was extremely helpful in explaining that the car needed to be run without the key taken out for at least 2 hours, so a long run out in the sun over the weekend.

My thanks to Rob and Dave.
