Point me in right direction
« on: 29 September 2011, 20:47:25 »

Hi guys posted this b4 some time ago, fans do not EVER >:( come on low speed, instead temp rises to 97/98 Degrees then they both cut in together and temp drops to 85/87. I did replace fan switch but as I was watching the Pennies ;D so bought 1 from Euro farts. This new switch did not cut fans in at low speed either,in fact this made things worse with fans not cutting in until 100+ :o Switch removed pronto and Vx put back things back 2 b4 repair. Also guys this is annoying the WIFE  ;D  because if the mig is in the mid 90s i will let her climb up to fans cut in,then when temp back down switch off, usally results in comment why are you still sitting the Bloody car ;D ;D.. Could someone please tell me where I should looking next, pump replaced last Oct when I bought the Mig and this problem has Dogged me since day 1. 2000 3LTR MV6 man :y

Have you checked the fuse for the first fan to kick in?

Is your car a facelift? (are the window buttons on the door or next to the gear stick)

If its not a facelift, the original operation of temp rises to 97/98 and fans cutting in is ok, they should cut in a little earlier, around 96 ish  :y

Thats what should happen  :y

Its worth checking the radiator is in good working order, any history on the thermostat?

Also please leave mobile phone text speak on your phone  :y

Is this the one I looked at at the High Wycombe meet?

If so, are you going to the next one?

Would be nice to get to the bottom of it.

Fan relays were all working OK if I recall correctly, so it was looking like the switch. :-\
