Tilting NS door mirror
« on: 02 October 2011, 14:18:04 »

I dont know if my memory is playing tricks on me - but do Elites have a pass door mirror which tilts downwards when the car is put into reverse?

Mine is a '99 and this feature either dont work or i'm imagining things ...........

TIA - Rob

Mine doesn't do it either, I guess you must be imagining things  ;D

I have got into the habit of using the mirror switch when I need to park tight to a kerb and then pressing the seat memory button to put it back to normal afterwards.

[where is the Eureka smiley?] I have just realised that the smart thing to do is set memory position 1 for normal driving and memory position 2 for reversing :y

Istr someone (Entwood?) posting something about this.If your memory 3 position isnt normally used - set memory 3 position exactly the same as your normal position apart from the mirrors face downward. Then before you select reverse, select memory 3 and the mirrors will tilt down. ;)

Ok, it was my mind playing tricks. I had an Elite new in '99 and thought it had this feature - but obviously it didn't. Must have been a more recent car - but I cant remember which one. Never mind.

Good idea re memory 3 though. Think I'll do that.

Thanks guys

That's exactly what I used to have my seat set as, until SWMBO decided the Omega was too big for her to drive!  ::) So now it's...

Memory 1 = me
Memory 2 = me in reverse
Memory 3 = me having a kip  :D ;D :y
