safe warning

Have a strange fault , ihave a cid display works fine except when i fit the stereo which is a ncdc 2013 nav into car after about 20 secs display comes up red and says safe  both items were on car when i bought it showing safe on display any ideas how to fix .Have codes from vauxhall but have been told stereo doesent recognise code car is a y reg 2.6  elite.

a CID is paired to a head unit, it sounds like one of them has been swapped.

Sadly you cannot easily get a them re-programmed, if at-all. Codes from Vx will be useless, CID needs to be de-paired and set in delivery mode.

I'm not totally sure if yours can actually be de-paired  :-\

Does it say DISPLAY SAFE or RADIO SAFE, or randonly alternates between the 2?

If we can get it on a Tech2, depending which part is mismatched, there may be a solution.  Nearest OOF Tech2 is Brackley (yes, I know, thats off the grid ;D).

Do NOT ever, ever, ever use Evans Halshaw at Crownhill. Apart being wholly incompitent, they knowing charge for work they don't do.
