.......then try Paraffin. :)
We used to run a Ford Galaxy 500 Sunliner on it in the 1960's once the engine had warmed up on petrol
You could back it up to the dispenser on a garage forecourt & just get the delivery pipe in the filler behind the rearnnumberplate. All you had to do then was feed florins into the pump until the tank was full
In the morning, we started it by pouring petrol into the carburetor until the engine was warm enough
It went well in first gear, but when the auto box changed up it was not so good so we travelled everywhere in first followed by a noxious cloud of white smoke
People living along the A303 still talk about it to this day (the ones who were not asphyxiated that is) :D

To be honest im not sure what goes on with mine as I hardly ever put petrol in, must be 6 months ago I chucked a tenner in and it was near empty then, could it be starting on gas?? I just leave the switch on gas all the time and never feel/hear it switch over from petrol ???

Both mine will probably get their petrol tanks brimmed soon, ready for the snow/ice.  Actually, while Tesco have 5p a litre vouchers....   ....that'll be an expensive trip, as both are around 1/4 full

That still makes it £1.17.9p a litre.  I can feel my buttocks clench.

I'm more used to 69.9p a litre ;)

Ahhh happy days. used to run a pre-war Austin 12 on the same system during the petrol shortage in the late '50's, but we rigged up an auto petrol feed for starting. As they were used to running on 72 octane Pool petrol, it used to run quite well, if a little smokily. ::) ::) ::)
