Symptoms make me think possibly idle control valve stuck almost closed - engine has been stood for a while,or possibly multi ram, although I would have thought that might make it a bit gutless at low revs rather than causing backfire, missing etc.
Surprised by code 31,as the crank sensor now on the engine is the one I used to test it with, and it ran sweet when it was last running.
Any more experienced members any more ideas on this please ?

Good question. :y
Im thinking this is going to turn out to be something simple - its just a matter of finding it.The OP is new to Omegas afaik.
Also thinking that there have been3 (?) threads on this and it may be worth someone merging them into one if possible ?

Has the timing belt/tensioners been changed ? (I know it was planned) If so were the coreect tools used to set the cam timing ?
Either way,it might be worth rechecking it,if it has been disturbed.

Update - timing belt kit has been changed, using proper tools,so hopefully all is well there.
After a chat with Serek,Im inclined to advise the same as him.
Clean and lube ICV.
Check carefully for vacuum leaks.
