Wii or kinnect for xbox
« on: 23 December 2011, 19:53:42 »

Righto clever peeps....  Gaming type Q for you.

I have an xbox that I use to blat virtual baddies with on occassion and t'other half has a hankering for a Wii after daughter had one and it went with her when she moved out.

So.  Is it considered better to get a kinnect doofer to connect to the xbox and a couple of games or go for the Wii bundle with balance board and keep fit games etc and join in the Mario escapades now and again?

It's probably 6 of one and half a dozen of the other in reality, the final choice being down to what games you want to play.
We have both here and the missus rates the Kinect from a keep fit point of view, and you definately move about more with the Kinect as you aren't restricted to being in contact with the hardware.

We have both, apart from someone has currently borrowed my Kinect.

Martian has hit the nail on the head, depends what you want from it.  Xbox games, tend to more intense, in depth, as you know, having a seXbox, taking weeks to truely get into.  Whereas Wii games tend to be more family orientated, quick fun - no real 'learning' the game, anyone can play type thing.  That said, Kinect games up til recently were also those 'Wii style' quick fire fun - even the 5 games that come with it (Kinect Adventures) are a good giggle, and quite tiring in some cases (being the fat bastard I am).
