Plenum fasteners.
« on: 30 December 2011, 22:48:45 »

Hi all, just a quick question . The 4 breathers at the back of the plenum on my car are just pushed on without any fasteners to hold them on , should they be fastened securely with special clips or will they be ok just as they are "pushed on" ?

TIA  :)

Wouldn't hurt to clip them but then again they don't come off, many car's i've worked on had never had them.
Was on from factory for sure!

Both end ones can be secured with a thin cable tie as being a thicker pipe they had a special metal clip holding them on when they left the factory. :y

The two thinner middle pipes require no clips etc as have no pressure within to cause them to come adrift and being a thinner pipe are a much tighter fit :y

Thanks just that ive seen quite a few with the clips on and wondered if the vacuum should be air tight as good as it can be , ill tie the outside ones with small cable ties .

Thanks  :y
